Cake pattern inspired by those incredible multicolored tile walls at LAX. In 1961, the tile murals were installed in 7 tunnels, 3 of which remain today. They’re my favorite part of flying back home to LA, so I was thrilled when my friend @mrsschellinger asked me to take inspiration from them for the bottom tier of her daughter’s birthday cake. Her adorable daughter turned 7 and had asked for a unicorn cake, so we were truly making the best of the request! ? On a personal note, this sweet family was one of the first orders I received after moving back to CA. Over the past 3 years they’ve supported me so much, and I’m incredibly grateful for their love. It’s such a special honor getting to bake birthday cakes for the same kids over the years. It means the world to me.
