但是為什麼這個海灘會變成了藍色呢？原來在Preservation Bay的罕見海景奇觀是由數以十億計的單細胞藻類和浮游植物一起發出的自體熒光所形成的，這些動植物統稱為「夜光藻」，而更常見的稱呼是甲藻水華，藻類會通過發出熾熱的光線來吸引捕食者。，所以他們不必擔心被吃掉。
