Lady Dior不像Chanel、Louis Vuitton的經典款式般擁有長久的歷史，它自1995年面世，距今亦只有23年而已。當年法國第一夫人希拉克夫人將Dior最新款手袋作為禮物贈予來訪的英國戴安娜王妃，以感謝她出席由Dior公司贊助在巴黎大皇宮舉辦的塞尚畫展，其後公司在徵得王妃同意後，便將這款包包命名為Lady Dior，因此亦有戴妃包之名。

戴妃的加持下，讓這個造工精緻、款式優雅手袋，躍升成為一眾名媛、明星的愛包。就連人氣劇集《Gossip Girl》中，Queen B亦經常使用Lady Dior，可見它果然跟高貴劃上等號！

Maria Grazia Chiuri在2016年上任為Dior的創意總監後，把Lady Dior的肩帶改成粗身款式，亦推出My Lady Dior款式。這讓大家可以隨意在粗肩帶上換上襟章，更顯個人化外，亦把原來優雅、女性化的感覺上，加添一份型格感。
